I've been volunteering in my kids' library. Along with shelving books, reading stories, and helping with book check-in/out, I've also been making some long-lasting improvements in the form of signs!

The Non-Fiction section of the library has both "Easy Reader Non-Fiction" and normal Non-Fiction. The Easy Reader section takes up the bottom two shelves, but it's sometimes confusing for people, especially kids. So, I designed and made a sign to help designate the two sections.

Sketched out
Mostly colored
Sign installed!

I also made a sign for the game/activity check out area....because people weren't actually checking out anything--they were just using them!

The library got a set of these books, and they needed a sign to designate them. So I made one!

preliminary sketch
Coloring it
Finished!
Sign installed!

The "Easy Reader Non-Fiction" sign took at least 3 hours of non-stop drawing and coloring. It's a very large sign! The "Please Use Check-Out Binder" sign took a little over an hour, and the "Ask Me" sign took a little over an hour. I've made and designed dozens of signs and done lots of artwork in my life. I don't think these would take anyone less than the 5+ hours it took me. I wasted no time, and used the best materials to get the visual impact necessary.

Note: I certify this BB for 2 Points. Beautifully executed

What is meant by “improve”? Could this be as simple as shelving books or hosting a workshop, or does there have to be some work on the library in a physical or material way?

A sonic boom would certainly ruin a giant souffle. But this tiny ad would protect it:
