This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Metal Working.

Door latches are necessary to keep doors closed. So, let's make a door latch!

Here is one way to do it:


To document your completion of the BB, provide the photos or video (<2 min) of the following:
 - The supplies you're starting with
 - Partway through the build
 - The finished door latch

My problem with all metal working is that it is one more expensive hobby. I know conceptually how to weld, use a mill and even a CNC mill. But I just don’t have the budget right now for a decent welder, let alone a mill or CNC. And if/when I do get any of them, I’ll still have to practice apply that conceptual knowledge.
