This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Greywater and Willow Feeders.

For this Badge Bit you will improve the urine diverter in a willow feeder system.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
  - must use nontoxic materials where possible

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must show proof of the following (as pictures or a video < 2 mins):
 - show the tools and materials for improving the urine diverter
 - show before, progress, and after of improving the urine diverter in a willow feeder

The willow feeders at Wheaton Labs are a joy to use, in fact that’s where I’m writing this from.
On the other hand, the urine diverters each have their own personality which may take some time to get used to.

One thing we cannot allow ourselves to get used to, however, is a urine diverter which is functioning improperly.

I noticed an unfortunate smell and even worse sound when the diverter was in use. The urine was not fully diverted and instead was splashing into the can area and along the wood.

After a peek, the trouble was apparent - the diverter hose went inside the base of the funnel as opposed to going around the outside and whatever seal that existed to prevent this had since failed.
Liquid made it between the funnel and the hose, spilling out and causing a mess.

After a quick consultation with High Commander Stephen, we decided the best emergency fix was gorilla tape, while we brainstorm a truly awesome replacement.

Absolutely nothing glamorous about this optimization. Nor the job itself.
But someone had to do it

Edit to add: requisite picture of tools and materials!
