Your friend's pseudonym - I helped my friend, pseudonym "#2", with nausea.

Describe the issue your friend is struggling with
Symptoms:
#2's stomach was in pain and she felt like she was about to throw up. Heart rate was elevated. Temperature was 98.8degF. Stomach palpations found no bloating/gas.
Duration:
The stomach pain started 2 hours before symptoms escalated to nausea and writhing on the floor.
Severity:
Unable to stand up or likely to vomit.
Medical Diagnosis:
Probable stomach pain led to anxiety and distress. Also probable: the flu is prevalent in my city; will monitor for fever.

My suggestions for relief:
Behavioral:
1) Slow down rate of breathing, keeping chest still and using diaphragm to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. 2) Applied pressure to acupressure point for nausea on the forearm, two and a half finger widths from the wrist. 3) 5 drops of peppermint essential oil to a paper towel near #2's nose (not touching) to breath in. 4) When #2 permitted, I did an "I L U" massage on abdomen.
Food as medicine:
Provided #2 with a small chunk of ginger to suck/chew on.
Concoctions:
The thought of drinking tea made #2's symptoms worse.

Description of success (including, but not limited to)
What your friend actually did:
#2 followed my instructions except wasn't able to stomach chewing on the ginger until the peppermint oil, acupressure, and diaphragmatic breathing stopped the dry heaving.
How well it worked and How long it took to see results:
#2 was able to chew on the ginger within 5 mins. After 20 mins I was able to do the "I L U" massage on her abdomen once the nausea subsided. After an hour the stomach pain subsided in addition to the nausea. #2 continued to breath in the peppermint oil cloth because it was soothing, as seen on the feeling better photo. Vomiting was avoided for today.

I attached the two photos of #2 and myself. #2 is a minor so I intentionally covered her face where visible.
