This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in Dimensional Lumber Woodworking.

Lifting engines and dead deer is hard work.  Let's use some physics and make a block and tackle out of wood!

Here's Mr. Chickadee showing us one way to do it:

Here's another way:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a block and tackle set
  - At least two pulleys in each
      - If you make "rope stropped" ones you only need one pulley to satisfy this BB
  - Metal shafts, hooks, eyes and reinforcements is acceptable
  - Pulleys and frame have to be wood
  - Capable of lifting 500 lbs of stuff without breaking
        - Show proof if it isn't obvious
  - Homemade natural finish if desired

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The lumber you're going to use for this project
  - Midway through the construction process
  - Completed block and tackle set

Police line, do not cross. Well, this tiny ad can go through:
