This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in Dimensional Lumber Woodworking.

Once you get further into these hobbies, you might get your hands on lots of green lumber.  Paying for kiln drying is expensive, let's build our own solar kiln!

Here's a gentleman showing us one way to do it:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a wood drying kiln
  - Plywood, plastic and store-bought paint is tolerated for this BB
  - At least a 10' by 4' internal foot print
  - At least an average of 4' high inside

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The lumber you're going to use for this project
  - Midway through the construction process
  - Finished kiln showing size if it isn't obviously big enough

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. It was a tiny ad.
The new kickstarter is now live!
