Downloaded this afternoon on a mac with Firefox, worked fine, got a 16.5 MB file that opens and looks good.

Got it--first time's a charm. Chrome on Yosemite, opened with Chrome.

Just downloaded Ernie and Erica Wisner's Rocket Mass Heater Manual (using Explorer)

Try one was interrupted before completion
Try two was successful

I've downloaded successfully the "Chapter 4" version and had previously successfully downloaded the "Annex 6" version. They open up nicely and all is well. I have done it from home in Montana, and on the road in Europe and now in Asia. I'm using Win7 and Chrome.

I had to try three times to get the RMH manual to download properly. I'm on a mac and using Safari. This first time it took forever to download and then wouldn't open, second time not as long to download but still wouldn't open, third time was a charm. The first time was soon after getting the email with the link, second time was the next morning and the third time was maybe a day later.

Tried to download on my iPhone last night and it worked just fine--thanks!

Clicked on link from Firefox. I have it setup to always ask to download.
When opening the PDF in chrome I get a "Failed to Load PDF Document" Error

I got a different file size each time.
When viewed in a text editor the beginnings of each file seem to be the same.
The download seems to be ending prematurely.

I'm on a 1.5MB connection, maybe it's too slow and the connection is resetting mid stream?

Maybe server is having memory / swap issues? What does htop look like?

Had significant trouble doing the original download over the weekend using Chrome , it kept timing out. But did eventually succeed Sunday evening. I think it was just mostly to many others also trying at the same time.

Tried again yesterday at work using my IPhone and Safari and it worked just fine.

I used my phone for this test since I couldn't even get the download to complete on my phone during the original offer.

I tried twice (April 2@9.30 am), both times it said PDF failed to load.

3rd time it loaded the Annex plans.

It worked for me on the fourth try over several days. The successful one was right before I got the appeal for feedback.

That is correct. When it was first offered I downloaded it just fine. Then I got the plotskateers email and tried 3 more times with no success.

I figured out how to clear the relevant cookies for just this site in Firefox, and did so. And then I used the link in the "Plotskateers" email to go to the download of the manual. (Before clearing cookies it went back to the annex 6" one) I then downloaded the manual DIRECTLY (did not have to open in Firefox then save, just direct download to laptop with Windows 7) and now it works via direct download. Whatever you did to tinker with it has fixed it for me at least. And yes I did have it working already (through open then save) but I was curious!

The size of the working direct download manual is 16.5 MB (17,341,647 bytes)
size on disk is 16.5 MB (17,342,464 bytes)

Downloaded 16.5mb of Rocket Mass Heater manual goodness with no problems!
