support thread for people trying to download freebies from dailyish email

That was my conclusion as well -- for some reason, download was being terminated prematurely, but was being reported as successful. Attempting to open such a download would result in the "corrupted file" report. As I reported earlier, I finally succeeded with a download of size 16,936 KB (=17,341,647 bytes).

I am downloading using the most recent version of Firefox on Windows 7, and I open PDFs with PDF-Xchange Viewer.

The only other time I experienced this problem was with an earlier download of Erica's plans for the Annex 6" RMH. Never on any other site. I suspect that the problem is somewhere on the server side -- maybe something to do with the high traffic, maybe not. Hope your techies can track down the issue.

I just tried to download the manual in chrome and firefox and they both didn't open. firefox tried to open in mac preview, and chrome tried to open in the browser. both failed.

I've been a member (receiving daily-ish emails) for about 1 month.
I just found this thread discussing them, but every time I've tried to download something, I haven't gotten it.

I get a page that has something about whatever was in the email, never the whole thing, but also on the page is a advertisement for signing up for the daily-ish emails that brought me to that page in the first place.

I've also been trying to get the RMH manual with no good results, the page I get has like 1 page that's blurry, the under that is the sign up for daily emails, and below that was a link that said RMH manual, when I clicked it I got a page where I could pay the $3 to download it... I thought the point was to get get it free from the daily emails?

EDIT: never mind, I didn't realize I needed to enter my email aand hit submit to get the DL, I thought that was to get added to the daily list, and I didnt' want to be on it multiple times. I just tried it and it worked first time for me, Thanks!

Everyone! I think we've fixed the wonky download issue! Can people please try it out and tell me if it is working smoothly for them?!

I have now tried it out on three different browsers and it seems to be working okay.

No dice on the first try today with firefox BUT second try was successful..still with firefox... bizarre

I really hate to tell you this, but I just tried it again and it didn't work this time. I still have the one I downloaded a few days ago though.

Download successful. I needed to wait a few minutes for the file to populate, but I opened it and all is in tact.

It worked for me today. I tried the last time the email went out and got an error. I assumed there were too many people trying at the same time. I forgot about it afterwards. But i have it now!

RMH download didn't work for me either last week, but it downloaded like a charm when I tried it a few minutes ago. Thanks, permies team!

I successfully downloaded the manul from the link in the email. There were no issues and the download was quick.

Managed to download the Ernie and Erica Wisner's Rocket Mass Heater Manual, but it took a bit of patience – only managed to download it fully with the 4th attempt. The previous ones were cut off just before finishing. Don't give up

Well it downloaded pretty quick but was once again corrupt. Same deal as last weeks problem
I have a recycle bin full of rocket-mass-heater(#) files all the same size and all unreadable.

I successfully downloaded it Monday but there was no rhyme or reason to why it worked; same
browser, same cookies, same connection about the same download speed. After a dozen Adobe
Reader errors it finally opened and was readable.

I downloaded the RMH manual successfully. Thank you!

Downloaded twice in chrome, wouldn't open; third time in firefox, opened fine

Firefox downloaded full 16.5 MB and now downloading pdf to view.
PDF opening fine.

The download worked for me and the file seems fine as long as it is supposed to start on chapter 4.

also yes, it is supposed to start on chapter 4. the operation manual is chapter 4 of ernie and erica's upcoming book. that's why it says chapter 4

just downloaded free pdf of rocket mass heater manual. worked fine. global domination and free candy.... yeah!

Worked without a hitch. Downloaded to my phone using Chrome and opened it with pdf viewer. Thank You kindly.

Nope. It says file is corrupted when I try and open in with a browser or with Acrobat reader.
