Poppy companion plants?

I'm planning on including breadbox poppies in my garden, but I haven't been able to find much information on what they grow well with, and what plants they should be kept away from. What are some suggestions based on your own experiences?

BUMPING this thread! My husband saved a bunch of poppy seeds, and now I'm trying to figure out where to put them. These things like to spread like fire, right? I read they attract pollinators, but I don't know anything else about their strengths as a companion/guild plant. Would they be good under my fruit trees, or would they do better tucked next to my veggie garden, or strewn randomly in my lawn in zone 3 or 4?

There are annual and perennial poppies... Breadbox poppies are an annual species. I grow them as an annual in my vegetable garden, so I can't offer insight regarding an annual poppy guild. Annual poppies die easily when young, so they are not weedy in my garden. (Now watch, just cause I said that, I'll have a tremendous problem with them this year...) In the badlands around here, grass and perennial poppies grow together. The poppies that I have seen grow 2 to 3 feet tall. I don't envision them out-competing established fruit trees.  

Speaking from observations as a kid when poppies were still common in fields, I would say grains (wheat, barley etc.) and bachelor buttons. Looks stunning too!

Are these bread seed poppies (P. somniferum)? There are some awesome recipes. I think it is forbidden to plant here.
