Here is a small solar system we got to use in place if our gas generator. Its not a huge one . Just big enough to run small things like a tv, charge cell phones, or small lights that you can also buy with the system. They have a lot of accessories you can get but we only got the lights an portable speakers. And they both work great! They are from a company called goal zero.

Great Photos, and best wishes on this new adventure!

I design and install solar electric systems for a living, and I can report that for small systems -- especially where portability might be important -- Goal Zero products are excellent quality. I wouldn't use their stuff to create larger systems to run a house year-round, but their products are excellent, and they don't overstate their capabilities like some companies do. Good Choice!!!

BTW: For any Permies that want assistance on off-grid solar design or sizing, feel free to contact me with questions -- I'm happy to help folks make good choices (at no charge or obligation) whenever I can fit it around my schedule.

The land looks beautiful!

This is a holder that my husband built for the solar panels so we can attach it to an old satellite dish to be able to turn it with the sun
