Saskatchewan Ecovillage or Land Share

I've talked about my ideas and goals for an Ecovillage or Land Share Arrangement elsewhere, but realized I hadn't made my own thread on this topic in this section.

I'd like to join or develop a quiet, natural, rural place with others of similar mind.  Probably in Saskatchewan and probably within about 100 miles of Prince Albert or Saskatoon.  I keep my mind open to other locations, but this is my current thought.

I like organics, permaculture, alternative building, home power, off grid living, etc. I like to live near people who are into such things, and who are also cooperative and positive. There must be tolerance for the differences in others, such as difference in spiritual beliefs.

I also live in Saskatchewan and have similar interests and goals in terms of living with the land and with community. I want to connect with others who share these ideas in the hopes of skill-sharing and supporting one another. My partner and I are always on the lookout for suitable land and we are very open to doing this with other like-minded people.

Also saw your post on bees. How did they do with the top bar hives? Are you planning to keep bees again this season? I am planning on keeping a couple of hives this year for the first time, would love to hear your experiences with bees.

I chose a poor design for my first top bar hive and ended up transferring that colony of bees back to a regular box hive for winter. Then, because I insulated too heavily and because the of some warm weather, I lost quite a few bees. I think both my hives over-heated and so the bees piled out of the hives to cope. There were big piles of dead bees outside the entrances, much more than is normal. But both hives "yet live" and will hopefully be strong enough to thrive in spring. If not, I'll buy more bees. I removed some of the insulation and will remove more as the weather warms. The plan is still to phase into top-bar method, but by building better hives
