Has anyone used Trugreen's service? I'm going to hire some services from them. Before, I want to hear some reviews from you. If you used their service, please comment under. Thanks.

I am a member of social Agreedhand where you can find some usefull information about gardening and more than that.

There is not one lawn service that practices sustainable, non artificial chemical care, they will decimate your soil organisms so that you are growing grass on dirt.

I'm sure the short-term results will look good, but what Dr. Redhawk is referring to is that once you use them, or a similar company, or the conventional petrochemical fertilizer methodology they espouse, you will be forced to continue using them and/or more and more synthetic fertilizer to keep the same looks, until...more doesn't work anymore, your lawn dies, and you've poisoned your soil.

If you can, it's better to follow a more self-directed and long-term healthy techniques, as this article describes:

As others said, Truegreen is not going to be a sustainable option long-term, and depending on what they put on your lawn it might be good short term either. A combo of herbicides/poisons, plus petroleum-based fertilizers, is the common combo used which will cause a lot of damage to the soil.

Yes such a company can make it "impress the neighbors" but I wouldn't want any kids or pets touching it afterwards.

I know that we should take care of my lawn on my own but I sometime really busy with my job.Therefore I'm looking forward to a service which is worth with the money

Maybe there is ONE...? It's in my neighborhood near Boston...
Organic Soil Solutions

As with any service, you are paying for some combination of expertise, equipment, and labor... any of which you could do for yourself .
All it takes is some education/observation/experience + (in the case of lawn care) inexpensive/simple tools + time/labor/will to get it done.

IMHO, Trugreen is a "greenwashing" of their former name from the 1980's... Chemlawn. (they were Trugreen/Chemlawn for a while in the 90's)

Nails are sold by the pound, that makes sense.

I passed a Trugreen truck today, and was reminded about their change in truck design... From the Chemlawn version with the tank and sprayer out in the open... to the Trugreen version with everything hidden inside of a fiberglass box with doors.
(Nothing to see here, we're not spraying toxic gick on your lawn, pay no attention to what's inside the truck, what tank of chemicals?, just jot down our number and call us...)

I'm also reminded that I might be living in the Matrix. Write about Trugreen in afternoon, see their truck the next morning...hmm...
Either that or I'm manifesting things with my thoughts... I'd better concentrate on good stuff!!!  ;-p
