And add some cayenne to the caramel coating on the onions?  this could also be an April fools day treat.

I think I'd like a non sweet coating on an onion, depending on the variety of onion, yum.

I used to freak other parents out when I was a kid by begging my mom to buy brussle sprouts while shopping. Never understood the whole kids hating brussle sprouts thing, I loved them as a kid and still do.

I remember many a mother leaning over whispering to my mom "just buy him the brussle sprouts, I can't get my kids to eat them"

There is also roasting peeled garlic cloves, sticking them on those little fancy snacky toothpick thingies and dipping them in almond bark dip and serving them to your Halloween party guests along with other things. That can be priceless.
