I have found several of these, very lightweight, hole at the end. Something came out of this! What came out?

It looks a lot like a wholly bear caterpillar cocoon but less fuzzy. They basically build their cocoon out of their fur so my guess is a caterpillar that's not as fuzzy made it and a moth of some sort came out.

I was going to say some sort of caterpillar/moth.  When we had the giant moths that were being attracted to the light on our barn I found several thing similar to that which I thought were their cocoons. They are a silkworm moth.

I know they laid their eggs on our honeysuckle and I have hornworms galore.

Interesting. I just looked up big moths, and some of the cocoons are similar, with the cocoon of polyphemus moth looking closest. But I have never seen a moth like that around, hmm. I have seen sphinx moths of a couple types, and Spotted Apatelodes, but not their furry caterpillars.
