Came across this neat site while searching for tips on gardening.
My husband, two kids and I just travelled 2,000 miles from CA to TN (seems like we're not the only ones) and bought a small house on an acre of land.
Been here about two months now and we have a small haphazard garden going (corn, pumpkins and sunflowers).
Loving the freedom to transform our small acre from lawn to (hopefully) a food producing garden. We have grand plans to someday add bees, chickens, a rain catchment system (and a whole host of blossoming ideas) to our land.
Loving the weather diversity out here too!
Excited to explore this site more and learn all that I can!
And welcome to Tennessee, it's a pretty good place to live if I don't mind sayin so myself Please feel free to ask questions in threads and starts new threads about things you're doing at your new home. Permies has a great community of helpful folks and collectively we know a lot. Enjoy the site, and holler if you need help.

Thank you! I'll definitely browse and use all the resources available on this site.
Tennessee is a great place to live! My husband and I lived here about 6 years ago while he was in the Army, and ever since he got out and we moved back to California we've been dreaming and talking about someday moving back here. So we finally did it! Couldn't be happier.
