Both my OXO and Kitchen Aid scales have developed a drift. You can leave the bowl undisturbed and the measurements will change. I can slide the bowl around and the measurements of 250g can change by as much as 50g. And both units are outside of their warranty window.

At this point I would rather spend a little more money and buy a solid built unit.

So far I am looking at the following:
Escali Pana
KD8000 Kitchen Scale
ZIEIS High Precision Scale

Look at industrial supply companies. Factory scales last decades.

The factory scale is a great idea. I purchased a full blown side bar medical scale for similar reasons. It was worth the cost. Do keep in mind that those factory scales are, most likely, calibrated and recertified on an annual basis.  So, if you do decide to pay out the bucks, make sure the scale can be recalibrated and make sure you have something ( s) of a known weight to calibrate by.

To more directly answer your question, we have a slide bar chemistry scale that we bought cheap in junk store. It would probably cost around $300 new. We also have an electronic scale EK 5055. I have no idea what brand.

This tiny ad just broke up with me.
