Glad to discover this forum. I'm looking at growing organically indoors and open to tips and recommendations for getting set up. I hope also to contribute with my knowledge of outdoor gardening.

Welcome to Permies! You may find the Urban and Organic discussion areas interesting. I've done a lot of indoor growing and have even written blog posts on it so if you get stuck on something feel free to hit me up.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to dig into the info here on permies. It's nice meeting an experienced indoor grower. Do you have any blog posts that can help me with getting started indoors? I'm in the planning stages right now.
Susan, welcome to Permies! Carl has some good suggestions to help you get started. Permies is a huge place, but it has a lot of helpful people. There is a search feature at the top of each page as well, to help you find what you're looking for. Also, please feel free to jump on in, start a thread, and ask questions!
Hi Susan, welcome!
I am nearby in Eastern Ontario and facing the same challenges- how to keep some plants alive in a cold sunroom through the long winter.
I have a few grow lights but of course the garden centres are all closing for the winter...
I've played a bit with hydroponics and indoor lights, though I've drown to prefer soil to water for my growing and have thus done most of my growing on my balcony. I'm interested to see what you're playing with.
