I have never seen anything like this before. It feels squishy and hollow. There are three of them in close proximity, with one looking like it was stepped on. Anyone know what this is?
The initially came of their own accord but I figured I’d use them. They grow really well in mixed chips. A lot of the chips I get are pine, mimosa and some hardwood.
Yep, dog stinkhorn fungus. Nasty smell. Also brought in with a load of free mulch from a tree cutting service. After 3 years, they did not come back this year. I’m hoping that that good luck was not produced by this year’s weather patterns.
