On the edge of my property, Southern Missouri, zone 6a/b. Pretty! I didn't got close enough to smell it, was very busy.
Flowered in early May. That's the only shot I got of it.

Hmm.... never noticed any fruit on it, but the birds might get it fast. It's on the fence line, probably technically on the neighbor's side. Possibly bird seeded.
I'll watch for fruit, see if I can confirm it!

Did you ever figure it out?

Could be chokecherry as well. Not a great photo but the flower clusters seem much larger than my black cherry.

The birds strip my chokecherry as soon as they ripen.

I did not ever get back to it. Looking up chokecherry, though, I think you are right. And the botanical garden in this area says it grows well and birds spread it around.
