Hello,
This is for those who work in surveying!
Recycling Survey stakes,
First you need to remove the dirt and the remove the texta writing!
To do this the best way is to use a file and then scape off the dirt,
then file back the writing.
after this you should use a knife or better an axe/ tomahawk/ hatchet. and re point the bottom of the stake.
Please note: How one tips the stake can have benefits, if a wedge point is used it is great for not pushing soil towards the placed peg.
A full point pushes soil every where.
And no tip just compacts the soil down.

Squirt a the stake with paint. and with practice in 5 minutes in the field one can replace a stake.
Options to have a drill attachment to remove the paint also works and does this in 2 minutes. however drills require large amounts of electrical charge!
Next survey Pegs.
First use a claw hammer and use your cold chisel behind the hammer (or screwdriver). then lever out the clout. the clout is now able to be re used put it straight into your clout nail tin. (If you do not have a clout tin get one)
Next clamp and saw off the top of the peg. were the nail hole was.
Next re-tip. see above.
Now re spray.
finally wait to dry,
How to save on flagging tape.
Use Velcro to keep the roll from ravelling.
alternatively, string can be used with a noose or snare not variant!
Next cable ties,
use a knife or screwdriver to wedge behind the cable tie stopper and then pull loose you can now reuse this cable tie. this is done to move anti gawking screne on active construction sites.
please just take apart the fence when the site is inactive.
Next spray paint cans.
When completely empty are recyclable, just throw them into the recycler.
Micky pins or concrete nails.
Are over used.
Use a 3mm drill bit to drill the holes instead for set out work on slabs. use a self tapping hole punch to guide the drill and drill from a standing position to use your weight its faster.
also carry with you a brush with tough bristles it comes in handy for quality finishes of marks placed and looking at concrete blocks as well as searching dirty street kerbs. and also cleaning the truck. it will help with these surveys.
Recycle carpet to be stencils for spraying drill holes and wings. as well as bench marks and as well as permeant mark covers.
for used nails keep them in a jar when enough jars are filled sell them at a farmers market to hipsters, remember to ad a splash of water to the nails so they are rusty. sand paper works also.
