hey hey! Glad to be here.

I'm from BC - originally from the lower mainland. I've lived all over the province at various times, but the last couple years I've been in the kootenays. The plan is to find a little piece of land around here that's suitable for homesteading and permaculture. With covid and whatnot there's been limited opportunities for in-person networking, so it would be great to meet some like-minded folks from this area. If anybody out there knows of people doing cool permy stuff in this region (and i suspect there's a lot, given the culture here), I'd love to find out more about it!

Networking aside, this seems like an awesome place to learn and discuss and plan. Good community, knowledgeable people, and they're doing really interesting and important things. Plus I dig Paul's "mad scientist" vibe. The world needs mad scientists right now. Hundreds of 'em. *Thousands* of 'em. All mad-scientist-ing their faces off 24/7. They may just lead this world back to sanity - or something like it!

Hi Mike!

YAY! So glad to have you!

I'm also living in Kootenays and I'm also looking for land to start my permaculture dreams. There are lots of permaculture folk in the area! Send me a Purple Mooseage if you want to connect

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

It feels good to plan. I don't have the land to do much at the moment but that doesn't mean I can't scheme and plot! Instead of, as we say around here, being angry at bad guys. I've been spending far too much time and energy in recent years being angry at bad guys. It seems pointless because the bad guys aren't listening. Getting mad at them doesn't make me feel any better.

Designing a different path that makes the bad guys irrelevant - now that makes me feel better! My hope is that over time I can contribute as much info as I gather here. We're all in this together.

Howdy, welcome.
I'm just a bit south of you in North Idaho. Yup, you've got some crazies in your neighborhood.
