Normally I'm nervous enough teaching a class, but this is different.  It's not just teaching a weaving class, it's teaching a weaving class that has nearly 100 years of history.  This class has been handed down from one to another for years, changing along the way, but a big part of the guild tradition.  I've been assisting with it for years, and finally, it's time for me to take over the tradition.

It's the extra weight of history that made me jittery.  That and I don't want to let my mentor down.  I needed some way to calm my nerves.  So I did what I do best - distracted myself with yarn.  The repetitive motions have an soothing effect on my nervous system and helped me focus on teaching.  And I made a video.

Perhaps just remember they are there to learn from you, not judge you. Hope it goes well.

This was lovely, Raven, and with so many things that this extreme introvert can relate to. When you first pulled out that student loom, I immediately recognized a Dorothy and was delighted; Dorothy was my first multi-harness loom and I just love her. I aspire to have warping be calming, though. Maybe someday, but oh, today is not that day. Warping takes me forever and no matter what strategies I use, the tangles!!

Thanks for a nice bit of yarn zen.
