Thanks for posting Christopher. It looks like you are in good hands there at the Labs. This is going to be a great learning experience for you. I got to say "brrr, it looks cold outside!"
I'm envious of the new path you are taking, lol. Good luck.

Thanks for letting us 'be there' with you, Chris.  And I see you have stand to cut up wood.... I built one, also, a couple of years ago... had to 'google' for the instructions, and the name:  sawbuck : )

Snowy and beautiful!  Glad to see that things are progressing even in the depths of winter.

I fell asleep before I got to post last night, but Sunday I mostly worked on my first badge bit. I made a rough wooden spoon that looks barely usable, but hopefully it qualifies. Today, Monday, we worked on the post for the staircase rails, but Fred had to go get some bolts from the local hardware store. So in the latter part of the day we got to work in remaking the balcony supports. They worked, but Paul visioned His balcony with longer supports. And I’m kind of glad He did, because I didn’t quite understand how to create them the first time around. Overall It was an experience filled day today at the lab.

Thanks Brian. It’s not to bad out here with the right gear. I’m from Southern California and I’m quite enjoying this weather.

“sawbuck”. Thanks Nancy, a word I will probably need in my vocabulary from here on out in my new permaculture lifestyle.

Yeah, I realized I’ll never be bored in a permaculture lifestyle.

Today we aligned the three post for the staircase in the shop, got the cuts on the rails, and finished up the new rail supports. Much faster this time around. Then on the latter part of the work day the new boot showed up and we gave Him a try with the chainsaw. Then afterwards we all had a good time hanging out while enjoying some yummy vegetarian Tacos for taco Tuesday!

It's just like a fortune cookie, but instead of a cookie, it's pie. And we'll call it ... tiny ad:
