I can't say I've felt the connection there but that's mainly because it is not one of my daily chores. I do however feel it anytime I do something intentionally in a method that has purpose deeper than expedancy. It's really a special feeling.
I love hanging my clothes outside on the clothesline.
I love the brightness that the sun makes the white clothes.
I love the smell of clothes that have been outside on the clothesline. So fresh!
I live in the mountains and love the feeling I get when I look at them. Such vastness and beauty.

I realized that everyday activities can be an exercise in 'meditation' and I have been very intentional when I do housework like laundry. I had some wires strung across our basement ceiling for winter laundry drying. Wes, one of the Boots, went all out and designed & created a pulley style laundry rack from raw materials at Wheaton Labs. Kudos!
Hanging out the laundry is my favorite household chore. I don't necessarily feel a connection with my ancestors, but I take pride in buying quality clothes that last and taking good care of them. Propper hanging eliminates the need for ironing and can make clothes last much longer. I find it relaxing and almost a meditation.
