As many of you know, for the past several years I’ve been involved with planting community food forests at churches, libraries, and schools. There has been a lot of demand for fruit and nut
trees (and other useful plants) and my friends and I have been propagating like crazy. I work as a part of a
non profit called Mason County Climate Justice, though we do work beyond the county proper.
As fall and winter approach, I am finding myself in ever growing need for seeds and (in fall/winter) dormant cuttings.
I can’t afford to pay for shipping and I understand if folks aren’t able to do this, but I am looking for donations of all kinds of trees and cuttings this propagation season, so long as they will do fairly well in zone 8 Pacific Northwest. I have been gathering seed locally and will continue to do so but we have exhausted our
local sources and labor.
Some examples of what we are looking for:
Apple seeds
Pear seeds
Chestnuts
Walnuts
Hazelnuts
Fig cuttings
Elderberry cuttings
Grape cuttings
