So just out of curiosity, is there a way to promote sales of live animals (if not, please don't harass me) through permies? At the moment my family farm PeacefulValleyFold is basically only selling breeding stock. We've been selecting for durability, hardiness, production on rough pasture, and lots of different traits that I think people here would value, and I haven't seen any posts mentioning it. We're planning on getting into selling fine art, mentorship, books, and clothing made from our products, but aren't quite there yet. Is there anything I can do at the moment to start driving traffic to the stuff on our website that IS available right now? If so, what?
We're currently doing most of our sales through Facebook and breed specific organizations, but I wonder if the people here on permies would appreciate the kind of animals we're selling more than the people on Facebook.

Elena, yes, in our flea market forum. Here's a link for guidelines and tips on how to post there - https://permies.com/t/131957/flea-market/post-flea-market-forum

Hi Elena,
A business model that is pretty effective these days seems to be getting an online presence on youtube or tiktok or one of the social media platforms. Then you sell to your audience. They come for the content, and then some will want to partake financially. It's not for everyone, but I have seen it be effective.

Several folks regularly post to the forum to drive folks to their websites.

To me, the answer is to share your knowledge with the forum.

Here are some threads by folks who seem to have done that:

I agree with Anne. By establishing yourself as a knowledgeable source, folks will trust you and want to know more.

And Permies offers a lot of options to help. You can read about them here -> Concise Guide to Promoting Your Stuff on Permies.com
