Sorry to bother you all, how to delete or recategorize a probationed post?

I have questions about (thing you apparently can't talk about in general forums--toxic gick.) While looking around to see what others have done in a similar situation, and not finding much, I decided to share a story I know about (thing.) But it was flagged because you all wisely limit discussion of controversial topics to a forum called cider press. And I was informed or reminded of your policy by a bot and asked to edit the (thing) out of my post. But my post is about (thing) and I don't know what to do!


Should I edit it so it is about a different aspect to composting? Should I request it be deleted? Should I somehow move it to the cider press? I have read a few of your wikis and can't figure out how to do that last one, which seems right to me--but I'm not attached to it, delete it if you want. Thank you for you patience with me while learning your ways.

You have earned quite a few apples,  perhaps you could post a new topic in the cider press?

You are welcome to post in the Cider Press Forum and you have requirements to post in Cider Press which is to have apples and PIE:

I believe you have the required PIE and apples and also the ability to move your topic to the Cider Press.

Sometimes a post can be easily edited to not mention the inflammatory subject. When that's possible, it's a good approach. But sometimes the thread is all about one of the controlled subjects -- even good threads can be! They just have to be reposted to the appropriate Cider Press forum.

I've run into this before. As far as I can see you cannot actually delete one of those replies. It just sits there hanging as "in need of editing".

It would be nice to be able to delete them. I've had it a few times when I realised that it is a comment not worth editing/reworking. The latest was a response to someone else, who had their own comment deleted - mine made no sense without the context, so was not worth reworking.

I'm not sure what the moderators see on the back end, but from a users point of view it would be nice to be able to respond to the request to edit a post by deleting it.

If you don't edit them, they usually vanish after a while.

Yes, that is a PIE feature:

The ability to add more forums to a thread.

There would be a Button at the top or bottom right that says `Add to Forum` from there use the pull down menu to pick Cider Press.
