New to the forum, but not so much to gardening, however we got this plant from a friend who thought it was rosemary, and upon closer inspection it has no smell and not enough long shoots. instead it has a fairly central stem with a few small branches. the similarities of rosemary include frosty white green leaves that are long and thin; needle-like and somewhat wispy. leaves much longer than rosemary's. Any clue what this might be anyone??

That is a tough one. Any idea where it was purchased? If from a green house maybe they would know.
What area of the country are you in? That might be a clue also.
How long have you had it? Have you had time to see if it has flowers?
No smell? I was going to suggest 'curry plant', but unsurpisingly that smells of...curry! (It's not very tasty though)
All the plants I know with that colouring and foliage have very strong scent, so it must be something I'm unfamiliar with.
Possibly some type of Artemisia? This plant reminds me of Sage, Silver Sage (Artemisia cana) or Silver Mugwort (Artemisia ludoviciana) I have grown White Sage (kinda similar to the Silver Sage) and when it was young it had no aroma and very little flavor.
The davesgarden.com gave the closest resembling picture, but upon looking up more examples of Dusty Miller and White Sage, it has very needle like (though they are soft and supple, not sharp and rigid) leaves...... more investigation is in order
