Although I wasn’t brought up celebrating it, it is part of my ancestry and I’ve been inspired this year to try to honor the celebration, this side of my ancestors, and what they went through this year, in the not-quite-traditional way I can. On the menu for bitter herbs, garlic mustard! Some homemade matzo too. And the fact that it’s also Earth Day makes this a particularly special day.

One could say that for a Permie, every day is earth day, but I’ve made a little extra effort to pick up some litter, arrange my pots, and water the sea kale and potato seedlings.

What are you doing or have done today, for either celebration?

In honour of Earth Day, a local organization sponsored a talk about the Miyawaki Forest Project.  Lots of great information and pictures of successful projects here in my province and around the world.

Later I will add to your thread about it, Maieshe!

We picked up litter around town the day before, there wasn't a lot...most was chopped up due to the obsessive mowing going on here.
Then on earth day took one last  hike at the local river before the ticks get bad...beautiful full blown spring complete with several types of butterflies.
