I took the time to watch my goats. The ate the Oak leaves but passed on the Maple.   This strikes me as counter intuitive,

Maybe the goats pass up the maples because they were full from eating oak leaves.

My goats when I had them years ago liked any leaves and grass that I gave them.

I didn't have maple trees, though.
