Yesterday, one of my older cats jumped on the sofa and nuzzled my wife briefly.  My wife looked at me and said, “ I think she is saying goodbye.” Then the cat jumped down, walked to the fireplace, laid down, and died. This cat always had a supportive role, never lead. We often referred to her as the handmaiden.

We now have 5 cats.  My wife and I are both past 70, so we have made the decision not to take in any more pets unless it is a life saving mission.

John, I'm so sorry for the loss of your cat.

I'm strong in my belief that she will be waiting to greet both you and your wife in another land.

Peace

Losing our friends is always hard. But I have to say, that doesn't sound like a bad way to go.

I'm so sorry, John. I have to agree, though - not a bad way to go. Bless her heart...
