That Bill Hicks skit was about how the evening news only reports bad drug trips like "Today a young man on acid jumped to his death because he thought he could flly." You never hear the reporter say " Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration , that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively , there is no death , life is only a dream , and we are the imagination of ourselves . Here's Tom with the weather ."
Besides psychedelic drugs what has inspired you all to have realizations like that young man on the news ?
For me , Neil DeGrasse Tyson talking about the source of ourselves as stardust . Listening to John Coltrane Quartet with Thelonius Monk Live . Staring at a Jackson Pollack painting in a museum , up close and farther back. The web of life as described by people like Dawkins and Steven J Gould.
