What an interesting book concept! I'll share this on my Facebook, too, 'cause I have quite a lot of Permaculture and Nature lovers there as friends.

Hi Ben I listened to your podcast yesterday and enjoyed it. I've been on this same path of "tending the wild" for about 10 years now. Here in the sierras of California I see tremendous influences in the local landscape from previous native land management. Many of the plants in the book by M Kat Anderson are local to me.

Using what's around to create dynamic living and productive ecosystems is extremely fun, specially for the mind.

It would be good to have a book that could have a good amount of the info for wild farming. I always recommend tending the wild to others.

@Jordan: I'm glad you enjoyed the podcast. We've been contacted by quite a few people over the past 2 weeks who have had really similar ideas for a long time. It's great to see the permaculture community moving in this direction. Wilson actually got to speak with M. Kat Anderson a few weeks ago about our project and she was highly supportive. My intention for this book is to create ethics & principles that people everywhere can use to apply "wild permaculture" to their own ecosystem... And to show that "tending the wild" can be economically viable on a local level. Keep up the good work!

You might also want to write a post for http://permaculturenews.org/. I know several successful kickstarters have used the PRI site to reach out to thousands of folks including Paul himself. You can see the writing guidelines here: http://permaculturenews.org/2010/08/18/get-paid-to-share-your-permaculture-passion-with-the-world/ Since you are promoting a kickstarter, you would not be paid - but it is an EXCELLENT forum for getting the word out. Subscribers are mailed the latest articles daily. Be sure to indicate that this is "urgent" when you send the story in.

Yesterday the funding period ended, too bad it could not reach the goal successfully. Any news on where we could follow this project from now on?
