Hi Jeffrey, welcome to permies!
Well that was an interesting self introduction of yours, a definite ice breaker for me.
Glad we got over the superficialities straight away!
So then, well, since we're getting down to it-
Can I see your worms?
I would have felt a little weird asking so forwardly, but boy your intro made me feel at ease straight away!
Really though, I wouldnt get too worried about it. Lots of the world's population has various intestinal worms. There are lots of worse things to have!
I saw an interesting study on pigs showing that presence of worms decreased illness in the pigs, as the worms were invested in the survival of their host, and as such produced antibiotic compounds that benefitted the pigs.
Worrying about a few little worms is a bit of a first world problem. In lots of the world folks would be worried if your GI was sterile like north america.
My best advice is to start eating a diet that is focused on GI health. Lots of fiber, no simple starches, lots of probiotics from yogurt, saurkraut, etc. Eat plenty of culinary disinfectants like garlic, tumeric, cumin, etc. Focus on good digestion first. 'Wormers' whether chemical or herbal are pretty drastic, and not too useful until you address the overall diet that would allow worms to get in excess.
Myself I am pro life. I love all life. Worms are fine too! Just not too many. I would rather have a little of everything, a super rich biologically diverse universe within me. Diversity is the best solution to excess. Of
course, and more so than in most discussions, YMMV.
