Advice for Temp Work for a Permie in Europe

Unfortunately I'm going to have to take a break in the coming months from being a Permie in order to do some temporary work.

Being an EU citizen but new to living here, I was hoping for any advice or leads as to a good way of doing some temporary work in the EU.

I speak English, Spanish and French and I have a work experience in diplomacy, trucking, restaurants, education and social work but Im willing to do anything that will pay for my very own backhoe/bobcat to dig ponds with

Where in Europe are you ? Instead of looking for work for yourself how about looking for work for your machine as in hiring your self out as the driver.

Every country in the EU is different so it would help to state which country you are looking for work in .

Ok both France and the UK have a shortage of folks who pick fruit / grapes veg etc
The work is long hard and the pay is crap plus with the economic climate there are an influx of folks from the southern countries around the med .
What documents have you got ?
Are you part of the health system / welfare system of the country you are in now ?
If you are then you can take advantage of help to get these jobs
In the UK the job centers in France, pole employ . Other countries have similar organizations

I'm a Spanish citizen, have Spanish healthcare, so legal to work in the EU. Minimum wage in Spain is 800/month in France its 1400, so even for minimum wage I'd be able to save some money worth having back in Spain.

Being within a short flight of my land is also a huge bonus, making France a strong option.

I've heard about summer fruit/grape picking and know some people that go each summer, Ill ask them.

dont buy a bobcat to dig ponds, an excavator + some sort of tipping trailer + a small tractor is perfect
you'll sink your bobcat and it sucks offroad unless it has tracks.

That is awesome advice, thanks, I'm hoping to start ponds in a year or so and will have to start thinking about those things.

Have you looked in the Czech Republic? Its not too far.

I tend to work in IT in just English and although my Czech is communicable you dont need it in many jobs. There are a lot of jobs for "shared service centres", centralised language based administration mostly due to the available staff in Prague speaking English and other languages.

Ive been here 8 years and there have always been a lot of foreigners, due to the culture and attraction of living in Prague but recently Ive seen many Greeks and Spanish people are coming here just because there is no work back home, the same as say a Pole would go to the UK. Average wage in this work tends to be around 30000 CZK / 1100 EUR, more maybe with your extra languages. Costs can be cut by flatsharing.

I'm not sure how much money you need, but I regularly donate (like sit down and press donate buttons) or hand out money to avoid middle-men cuts... so if Czech can be visited and like the idea of a week here doing random or something specific, just click a link on my site... some examples below:

UK property and construction market is buoyant. If you can drive diggers etc you will earn far more than picking fruit.
Also used plant is cheap compared to rest of europe.
I was hoping to pick up a mini digger here in spain during the construction industry meltdown but stubborn sellers want unrealistic prices so let their machines sit and rust without finding buyers. UK market is more realistic. Wont take many weeks work to buy your own.
