I've been a member here for a while and I've posted in a few places, even the singles forum, looking for a partner who gets this life. But I'm starting to wonder if I'm going about it wrong. I just spent the entire weekend digging a new trench for my water line by myself. It was a huge accomplishment, but at the end of the day, there was no one to share it with. I'm not looking for a handout or a knight in shining armor. I'm just wondering if anyone else feels this way like you're building this amazing, self sufficient life but you're completely alone in it? Is this just the price of admission, or am I missing something?

Some of us thrive in less social settings.  Even so, at least for me, it is good to have a partner. But meeting people who can fill that role can be a challenge. I suggest examining your socializing patterns and add one opportunity to what you are doing. …such as a gardening club, bee keeping club, etc.  i posted this observation a couple of days ago, but it seems to apply here was well, “I f you keep doing what you are doing, you will keep getting what you have got.”  Make a change to you present life patterns. It doesn’t have to be a huge one.

Oh yes, consider posting a little more on this site.  Posting in the personals is a great idea.  Making more regular posts shares a little more about who you are, your challenges, and how you respond.
