Greetings everyone!
Me and my partner friend have a lovely 60 acres of land with tons or raw materials treed lots 3 type of pine. 2 canyons on the land seasonal spring awesome views. We have dug two walapinis for year round growing. We been in the area for almost a year and found good resources for wood chip, horse manure and materials. We're renting in town and go to the land as much as we can to work on projects. We're definitely short handed and would like to make friends maybe team up with and share land and projects. We have 4 beautiful mastiffs, 25 chickens, two worm farms african night crawlers and red wigglers. Our chickens are starting to lay eggs. We live in town and would like to establish our self in the land next year. We are not religious definitely spiritual and love nature 420 friendly don't drink or do drugs easy going loving people looking for the same. I would love to share more with people that are ready to start living a sustainable life in a piece of paradise. Thanks for looking and hope to meet soon.

Hi Dave... We have some practical questions about paradise.... What elevation is your land..? what good year round source of water does it have..? is there more than a 90 day growing season there...? Do you live in La Vita or Walsenburg..? Have you created a home space for yourself.. to move into on the land..? and it is not really clear if you are looking for help on your projects and/or looking for someone that wants to move onto the land and create, home, gardens and a self sufficient homestead for them selves.. with you..? South Colorado, we have the land just looking for people wanting to get involve in permaculture. We don't have any structure yet this is a brand new setting for those wanted a platform but don't have the means for land. We do ask you have some exp. or back ground in permaculture. Sorry not hiring we're seeking community members with exp, permaculturist seeking a platform to create, we're willing to share space with the right people. Not here for money but real community people that see a future is the collective working with nature. We're accepting volunteers as well looking to get hands exp as well. In the future we will offer more but for now. We are looking for founders people that know what there are doing to create a balance structure for development. Thanks !!

I would love to talk to you about your project! I live in Pueblo. If you still need people please contact me!! I have an aquaponics system, I raise chickens and rabbits. I am learning about permaculuture online at the moment and having been doing reading for te past year. I'm also in grad school for ecopsychology. I don't know that any of this qualifies as experience however!!

Problem withColorado is that they think they own the water. Ca't build swales,
ponds. and might meter your well.
Although I did see recently they MAY allow you collect the water off your roof.
If that is true, then by golly make those roofs extended, and if it is restricted to
only a dwelling, extend those roofs do a really good job!

You can build swales in colorado, you can collect water on main roof structure, and if you own above 35 acres you qualify for a domestic well can irrigate about an acre. What more do we need. You can build cisterns no permit needed. If there is a will there is a way. The thing is taking some type of action no matter where you are! There is no excuses. We all could live in abundance. All it takes is ACTION! Only thing that can stop action is an excuse. Action is the KEY. I know i can't do it alone looking for create a team where we can put systems in place and thrive. Maybe we can go help others get started as well do the same. Still looking for people that are doers ready for action NOW! Done with excuses, plant a seed today. Namaste!

Problem withColorado is that they think they own the water. ...and might meter your well.

Colorado does not think that they own the water. Like all of the western states, they feel that the water belongs to the people. They administer its fair use, so that there is enough to meet everybody's needs.

In the 1800's, there was a lot of abuse by land grabbers who were restricting the flow of water so that the homesteaders downstream would not be able to survive. They would then take over the abandoned homesteads. The western states all enacted water laws designed to thwart abusive use of water.

As far as metering your well, they usually only do that in cases where abuse has been reported. The well may be your property, but the water it contains belongs to the permies. They will enforce violations when it becomes clear that somebody is stealing public water (using more than their fair share).

I'm in metro Denver but can easily move if circumstances are right. That being said, can you offer more details about what's currently arranged. Is there shelter? etc. Also, I don't need much, but it sounds like I would need to have some source of an income to cover my basic living costs such as insurance and fuel, etc. Is it possible to have work nearby?

Hey Dave how goes the search for help on your land in Colorado? I am a 58 year old school hippy/master gardener/farmer with experience in aquaponics, bio-dynamic gardening, permaculture design as well as a specialist in off the grid building such as cob, earthships, bamboo, free-cycle and others. We are in Nevada trying to close on a bus to rebuild into our new traveling home. We were looking at heading to the Southern Oregon area to start up a workshop training facility but your situation sounds inviting, let me know and thanks ziggy

This certainly sounds interesting/promising!

How do you feel about families looking to help with projects like this? My husband and I have two little ones, if we were to hook up with you guys we'd probably bring our own shelter, I've sure we could get some good yurts up before really bad weather. We've been looking into opportunities like this, if we did move we'd probably sell the property we had now too, maybe we could help with investment as well as skill and man power. We're just learning about permaculture ourselves but we learn fast and survival has been a lifelong passion of mine.

If we never meet then good luck and I hope you succeed in all your ventures!

This sounds like what we we are looking for. A start up community and can learn and grow together. I feel my knowledge of gardening, small but good non-GMO seed supply would benefit many. I will admit I have been studying a lot of videos on bushcraft, survival and life beyond walmart has been inspiring. We live in Arizona but are more than happy to relocate. A tent and supplies for self sufficiency are already waiting to be used. I know it will not be easy and I know having a special needs son in a wheelchair may not be what others except willingly. I do hope you can see past his wheelchair to what he offers as a growing young adult who will be the key to our future. Many of our greatest minds have been disabled. My heart tells me we found the right place, my fear of societies reluctance to accept a 'less than perfect' individual still makes me cringe. I am a less than perfect person, flaws many, desire for life beyond the walls of an apartment complex and the trash society teaches is pushing me to this. I want more, I want better and that takes hard work, dedication, a few, ok a lot of bruises, hot days and sleepless nights yet all I can see is a life worth living. Be well, be blessed.

We're begining to start projects at our homestead. We got a couple RV for shelter. Looking for serious people with exp to begin projects and food production. We won't grow till next season. Do a have project to start asap. Project include put up fencing, Have 11 geodesic structures to put up for green houses, sheds, aquaponics, cisterns, permaculture design, chicken coops, worm farm etc. If you are serious with exp. and have the time to get start now! Land is 40 miles from Pueblo. We prefer spiritual people, mature minded, team player, good communication skills, conscious, love animals, and easy to get along with others. Finally live minutes away from our 60 acres wooded plot for land!! We have a seasonal spring, two canyons, awesome views.
