I was lucky
enough to be at a friends who had three alaskan malamute dogs when they were in full shed. outside dogs and looked like it snowed dog hair all over the
yard!
So two grocery sack of dog fur and three happy and much less itchy dogs later.. I had two bags of doggy smelling fiber.
Its hell to spin it on its own. unless you happen to get it from a dog with fur longer than two inches. Plus dog undercoat doesnt have the same hair structure so the individual hairs dont hold together. Wool each individual hair is barbed and these barbs are quite grabby and want to hold on to each other with movement made to them.
Dog hair doesnt hold with itself. It wants to staticy stick to you though
Therefore blending it with other fibers is pretty much necessity.
