Dog hair fibers (chiengora)

Has anyone seen the new announcement by Ibex here (http://shop.ibex.com/)? They are going to start using dog hair fiber in their outdoor clothing. It's supposed to be 80% warmer than wool and have other great properties as well.
So here's another possible stacked function - LGDs that protect your livestock AND pay for their food with the proceeds of their undercoats
I have a beautiful, black Labradoodle-Husky who produces a huge quantity of shed fur. My first spinning lesson is this Saturday - hoping for a really warm black sweater by next winter...

Does anyone here have experience with dog hair fibers in clothing?

It's been years ago, my husband and I spun some malamute/wolf cross dog 'fur' ...brushings from a friends dog. We mixed it with sheep's wool though and didn't spin any of it by itself. I wove a vest and a scarf and a few other things from the yarn that we spun. I liked the texture of the dog hair in with the wool. It shows on the surface of these pieces that have been felted and brushed. The underfur was all white and we mixed it with natural brown/black wool.
I've never noticed a difference in warmth though, since it just isn't wool weather here for very long over the winter......any wool is almost too warm for Arkansas

I was lucky enough to be at a friends who had three alaskan malamute dogs when they were in full shed. outside dogs and looked like it snowed dog hair all over the yard!
So two grocery sack of dog fur and three happy and much less itchy dogs later.. I had two bags of doggy smelling fiber.

Its hell to spin it on its own. unless you happen to get it from a dog with fur longer than two inches. Plus dog undercoat doesnt have the same hair structure so the individual hairs dont hold together. Wool each individual hair is barbed and these barbs are quite grabby and want to hold on to each other with movement made to them.

Dog hair doesnt hold with itself. It wants to staticy stick to you though

Therefore blending it with other fibers is pretty much necessity.
