For the past four years I’ve been working at an award-winning charter high school and speaking at conferences teaching teachers about what the future of school will look like and how they can prepare their students for that future. I focused on student choice, problem solving, critical thinking and pattern literacy, but it always fell short of my expectations. When I wrote The Permaculture Student, I realized that permaculture was the backbone of what education should be globally and later I realized: not just curriculum is needed but a new kind of K-12 school.
This is awesome! When you are ready and rolling, I would like to send you supplies to make seed balls with the kids. Within the activity, you can incorporate "lessons" that deal with math, language arts, etc. Let me know what you think!
Hey ya'll, I just spoke to matt yesterday and asked him how much the tipi alone was and it's 5,000. So we should try to get him up to that at least! So maybe people could share the link or the youtube video with their friends or something.
New to Detroit. Looking to help out with current permaculture and urban farming projects. Here is my blog from when I was an urban homesteader in Ohio but I am continuing to post about our suburban adventures in Permaculture. http://crunchymamasurbanhomestead.wordpress.com/
