Anyone know this plant? - pokeweed

This nifty little bush popped up this Summer in the spot our old Crabapple tree was in. Any help identifying it would be appreciated.

If you decide that you do not want it, be sure you dig up the whole root!

The leaves are edible when young but the seeds are toxic.  (remember the song "poke salad annie" ?)     And invasive - don't let those seeds scatter unless you want the darn things popping up everywhere like here in the south :)
