I wish I had filmed the time that my dad and I were sipping a beer on the deck when the
local coolest barn cat in the world Chaz brought a
mouse across the driveway, and plopped it down to 'play' hunt with it. The cat would chase the mouse around the lilac shrubs and around the pollarded willow trunks, and then pounce on it, and or bat it around.
The mouse though, seemed to think that the game needed to have different rules. It stopped running, stood up on it's hind legs, and when the cat approached it struck out like a cobra. It did this repeatedly and also outright charged the cat, nipping at the cat's feet, and taking lunges at it's nose. I'm not sure how often this happens, but it's the first time that I'd ever seen it.
