I have a bag of food grade DE.

I have been eating a teaspoon of it mixed into my bowl of breakfast.

I've only read of mixing with a liquid and drinking it though.

...except when it's suggested for animals it's sprinkled on their food.

Drinking it really doesn't appeal to me and I think I wouldn't use it if that's the only effective way.

Anyone have advice on how to ingest?

Will I get any benefit from mixing it with my buckwheat cereal? or my sauteed vegetables?

EDIT: I did a long search and found nothing...now that I've posted, a thread with a similar question shows up below but does not really answer my question.

Thanks Peter.....I understand that the author in your link is expressing his skepticism which is fine and nothing I have not already read or considered.

I'm really just interested in how folks are eating it, not a discussion on why we should not

I think if you are taking it as a dietary supplement, what it's mixed with doesn't matter much.  AFAIK, it's deadly to insects in it's dry state, but doesn't bother us in our "wet" insides.

We all eat a certain amount of diatomaceous earth without knowing it, because it is added to grain in storage.

Thanks Julia, that's what I was hoping...I wanted to try as a supplement and probably only for a month at a time.  What I kept running across on line said to mix with water (or coconut milk) and drink on an empty stomach, so I'm hoping that breakfast with a bit of cereal will not be a total waste....one site suggested in smoothies.  I think the mixed with liquid on an empty stomach is aimed at parasites and cleanses.

You could maybe buy some of the empty gelcaps off amazon and make pills for yourself?

I don't think there is any solid information.. I learned that it's best to take with food just like any vitamin or supplement to help us get the best from it, but everywhere else says an hour before food or 2 hours after yet those same places that suggest that say it's ok to have in a smoothie.. it doesn't make sense to me.. i started taking it only in smoothies and with meals and doing that, alongside with herbal remedies, I've reversed my mild osteoarthritis (I have proof from Drs as I had X-rays and ultrasound sounds). but, for the first time in my life my iron levels were low.. and people have said you don't have it with food as it stops you from absorbing nutrients. It's negatively charged though meaning it only takes away nasty stuff that your body doesn't want. It's all contradicting.. but since I've been taking it without food, some pain has started to come back. I'm at a loss on how it should be taken..
