I'll start. I took several shots of this pecan leaf floating on a drop of water on a cabbage leaf, here is one. It caught my eye in the garden one morning. It was so simple but so beautiful.

Wow, what amazing rock formations ! You're so lucky to have such natural beauty nearby.

Lovely colours in the leaves adunca. The leaves on our two young Maples dropped early this year because of drought. I'm hoping they'll recover Ok and we get more rain next summer. 

The autumn theme continues...

This is a cellar next to our house which we built for keeping food cool. The the climbing plants now cover the gloriette on top of it to give it more shade - these are the autumn colours :



This is the cellar from the inside - although this isn't really "Art" it feels very satisfying.

A gloriette is a sort of arbour - lovely word isn't it ? This is one definition :

A gloriette (from the 12th century French for "little glory") is a building in a garden erected on a site that is elevated with respect to the surroundings. The structural execution and shape can vary greatly, often in the form of a pavilion or tempietto, more or less open on the sides. Climbing plants are often associated with this type of construction.

This is ours from the south side in May - the climbing plants and (heavenly) Banks Rose are about four years old.

Gwen - every time I look at your rock photos I see more "creatures" and the last photo is full of erotic art !

We have lovely countryside here but I'm from Scotland and really miss mountains and rugged rocks and dramatic scenery. There's nothing nicer than sitting daydreaming looking at a rock face or making noises around rocks to get your imagination in gear at the wonder of their existence.

Thank you for your compliments, Irene! I have to admit...I do have an eye for the...uh...erotic & it apparently shows up in my photos when I'm not even trying! 

Alas, I wish those rock formations were really nearby. Of course, nearby is up for interpretation. I took those pix in Colorado, on holiday last year. They are about an 11 hour drive (or one quick plane ride) from here, at a place called "Garden of the gods".

It is almost impossible to take a bad picture there, as is much of the American west. It's my fave place to vacation. I often dream of visiting Europe though. Maybe someday...

Here's a few pix we took on a weekend trip to western Okla. This is about 4 hours from where I live. 1st 2 pix are the Gloss (aka Glass) Mtns. 3rd pic is at Great Salt Plains Refuge.

Nudie shot of my son when he was tiny. It's scanned so not the most amazing clarity but still, awesomely cute!


This one is just weird. I had a coconut on top of the fridge for so long that it sprouted. I put it into the compost bin, it's way too cold in Canada for coconuts!

Some lupines in our neighborhood a few years ago.  I collected seed from the lone pink plant and just sprouted them a few weeks ago.
