This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum. Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in Rocket.

This BB requires you to start and operate a rocket mass heater for one month.

(source)

To get certified for this BB, you must heat a space with a RMH for one month and meet the following criteria:
- use two temperature logging thermometers (one indoor, one outdoors)
- at least 20 days the low temp outside got below 32 degrees F
- indoor temp was kept at least 65 degrees F, averaging at least 70 degrees F or more
- one month is 28 consecutive days

To get certified for this Badge Bit you must provide:
  - provide graphs of logs
     - take three data points (one at morning, noon, and evening) at about the same times each day
  - provide pics of the space being heated and the rocket mass heater
  - provide a twelve paragraphs about the experience

For 28 days, I operated the RMH in the Fisher Price house at WL. The Rocket is in an insulated, 3 bed, 2 bath house.

I attached two panoramic views while the rocket was operating (and including laundry being hung up). I also included the temperature graphs from inside and outside during the 28 days.

For my write-up about the experience, please refer to my log, here: https://permies.com/t/270623/Alex-Operate-Rocket-Log#2837663

Note: Awesome job Alex!

Murder? Well, I guess everybody has to have a hobby. Murder seems intense for a tiny ad.
Switching from electric heat to a rocket mass heater reduces your carbon footprint as much as parking 7 cars
