My chickens like to climb in my apple trees.  Luckily they don't ruin too many apples.  In the winter they don't want to leave the greenhouse/run so I have hooks hanging from the ceiling on strings.  I'll hook an apple on them and they get to spend an hour pecking at them.  If you set them a bit higher than they can reach they take longer to eat it.  Chicken tetherball...
