Permaculture experience in Ontario, Canada
Permaculture focused, 32 acre Homestead in Ontario, Canada, Zone 4 b.
We are; 1 resident PRI PDC/practitioner, 1 resident PDC/practitioner, and 1 off site BF
PDC affiliate. We have established systems, and more in the works.
If you are looking to gain/increase hands on experience of
Permaculture practices, and to gain/increase homesteading skills that include animal systems/husbandry.
Tenure is no less than 1 month and no more than 6 months, respective to mutual expectations. You will be working along side
PDC Practitioners in the continued
Permaculture design implementation of systems on this homestead. Straight exchange of Labor for room and board.
Progress tracking/evaluation are available for your files.
Projects on the list for this Spring/Summer:
1) Continued building of interior of our out door kitchen, with completed
rocket stove oven.
2) Commencement of in-ground geothermal
greenhouse.
3)
Chicken tractor(s)
4) Continued work of weirs in creek basin.
5) Continued
water catchment works
6) Geothermal
chicken coop
7) Expansion of fish
pond.
Regular chores/work on the homestead:
Animal husbandry of poultry,
dairy goats, and equine.
Dairy processing.
Kitchen garden, and zone 2 garden.
We use raised beds, hugelbeds, swales.
Regular upkeep and maintenance of outbuildings, fencing, barn, etc.,.
Accommodation:
We have an RV, and an insulated truck camper on site, in exchange for labor.
Main meals are in the main house, a good time to discuss projects on the go, and stay on top of things.
The area has Whitewater rafting, water park, golfing, canoeing, etc.,. for your days off.
