BRK Day 83

Thanks Greg, that's good to know! They are pretty awesome

Picked about 9 more gallons of pie cherries today. Jam day tomorrow. And drying. And maybe salsa? Give me all your cherry preservation recipes please

BRK Day 84

Got some firewood and watered my chestnuts, Orin's garden, and a bunch of apricots across the road from his plot.

The new boots Kevin and Hannah and I came back and made cherry jam, then water bath canned it (first time for any of us canning!)

Somehow I forgot to take a picture of your tree Greg, sorry! It looked a lot like last week hehe. I'll be sure to get it next time for sure!

My kids are looking at their chestnut, and they love it. My son says, "It's doing well?" I said, "Yes! Look at all those green leaves and how well he protected it." To which my son replied, "Awwwww cute!" We're glad Forest Chestnut is doing so well!

So glad your kids are enjoying it Nicole! Forest Chestnut definitely has the most branches (probably because it got 'pruned' by the deer) so that's pretty cool!

Kerry, I guess the chestnut is just a chip off the old block then 😂

BRK Day 86

I'm gonna start this off with a little shameless plug. I find myself shopping for plants and wishing I could buy all of them. I'm sure many of you can relate. As you probably know, this blog is part of the Biological Reverse Kickstarter. While the current bounty for the BRK is still quite significant thanks to a number of very generous people, it is almost half what it was when I started this blog 86 or so days ago. I understand that with current events being what they are, many people are not in a position to make any sort of donation. But if you enjoy seeing the boot logs of Jen, Josiah, myself, and numerous others, please consider making a pledge here if you're so able. Even a few people pledging $10-$20 would make a huge difference. Not only would it help us get more funding to do cool things, but it could inspire more people to join the bootcamp, and hopefully to stay long term. Thank You

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming:

Hi Clayton. My offer in the BRK was to knit a hat when you have 100 posts (with photos). But if you want to have something else I can send (together with hats I am busy knitting now for other boots), please tell me (in a PM). Maybe I can send some sachets of seeds?

That is a really big piece of pie for such a tiny ad:
