It won't be long now before we will be thinking of starting our pumpkins off under cover.  How about making it a competition for young gardeners to grow, and care for, a pumpkin before dressing it up Halloween style?  This is a long term project for us, let alone kids, but would be great fun especially and the end prize is not for the largest but for the most creative.  What do you think?

This is what the youngsters in our village came up with last year.

Creo que es una idea estupenda! (I think that's a great idea!)

I've been trying to learn a little Spanish so that phrase above may not be exactly right. I could read the box in the picture though.

I think it would be great for kids to see that a pumpkin is grown and not just bought from the store. It could be a great learning experience!
