Looking for tribemates for our 9 acre farm! -Update: No Longer Happening

Greetings!  Like a number of other folks, I can't edit my previous posts. So I wanted to write a new one since time has flown on by and things have changed somewhat. I'm still seeking community, and even more so, someone to share my farm with!

I’m Bri- free thinking, earth worshiping, lover of all things. I share my home with an amazing housemate and our raggamuffin assemblage of animals and kiddos. We are looking for community. A tribe, people with whom to be vulnerable, intentional, productive, communicative, loving. I want friends who connect on an emotional, intellectual, maybe even spiritual level.
We live in one big 'ol farmhouse on 9 pristine acres in northern SE. Michigan with insane amounts of potential.  We have a room we would love to fill with another amazing human person who has a passion and drive to help make this place magical!



I would love to start a conversation with anyone who has an interest in a home/farm mate situation like this!

Being vulnerable and open is so important, if your not going to open your mind, heart and soul then stay in your basement alone!

It amazes me how some people come all the way out to our land just to stay in their own headspace, we are conditioned to alienate ourselves and each other- COMMUNITY is healing, love and sharing!

Hello Brie, I am a gardener from Alabama, and I am looking into living in a community within the next two years. I would be wondering would be rent free if I am able to provide enough food for the community by working fora garden space, as I have no money and need a space to stay. I am developing my sisters property at the moment into a great forest garden hopefully, and I would also like to make a permaculture film, I would be happy to hear from you since I want to understand and perhaps build a steady friendship with those that I am willing to live with.

I am working on selling my house in Allen Park right now.  The plan is to buy a large parcel for permaculture in Michigan to start a homestead.  I have quite a few plans on paper about energy creation and conservation, as well as some ideas as to how the land can pay for itself.

Where are you in your planning process?  What kind of tribe do you foresee?  Have you looked on intentional communities website?  Things like shared meals, or how much work someone contributes.  How will bills be divided?

Renting now, but have similar goals to both Brie and Marc, so wanted to introduce myself and find out if Marc is still looking because there is a possibility of splitting up and/or sharing the acreage I am on, and I too am trying to sell a house elsewhere so I can buy here, hopefully!

Brie- I love and appreciate your plans and intentions, mine are similar but I need more than a room for myself and my pets but I hope you found someone who is compatible!

I'm a pretty long way from others interested in permaculture in MI that I have found so far, but still would love to network and collaborate, help out if and where able to support people's efforts!

Where at in the UP are you at?  I have been all over the place with the search for land.  I am not too keen on renting, but if there were terms for land contract or such, I may be inclined to discuss it.

I am currently in a house in Allen Park on a 1/10 acre.  I own the house and would like to sell to buy land.

What size is the property you are on?  What kinds of activities are you interested in doing?

I am located in South East Michigan, 10 minutes from downtown Detroit at the moment, but just staying in a home owned by my partner's brother for a very short time. We have bad credit and my partner receives a minimal amount of SSDI monthly.
We have looked into living out of a van and travelling recently. We ended up buying a 34ft travel trailer, but it has water damage that needs to be addressed. I personally would like to find land/ share land with someone and pay monthly to have the travel trailer parked on it while living in the travel trailer full time.  
My partner is leaning towards selling the travel trailer and cutting out losses.
I am looking to partner up on land or at least rent land at a reasonable price while living full time in a travel trailer and being as sustainable and frugal as possible.

Hi. I am Daniel. 42. Recently divorced. Father of 4 . 1 Granddaughter in Michigan with daughter whom I met only once. Basically that word valnurable sums me up. I feel lost in life. Alone and emotional now. Cant live in the city anymore. I have been planning on leaving for many years. My valnurable nature has made me a target to get hurt. I am a cancer. I love all things, all people. Compassionate and kind. A hard worker. I want to fee I appreciated. To help someone, who will help me. I am an amazing person, been my spirits are down. I'm a 23 year old recent college grad living in metro Detroit. I'd love to help out on the farm on a weekend, if you ever need extra hands! I grew up on a sustainable farm in SW Michigan so I'm very familiar with farming and caring for livestock in this climate, and I'm hoping to get back to my roots after living in an urban area for college. I'd take you up on the housing offer but I'm moving out west in summer.
