Kristie's weekly-ish pics

Nice milking stand. I learned to milk at his age. Eventually got up to ten does morning and night. [my sister milked the other 10]

My suggestion is to fasten two boards under the stand about 16 inches apart and cut out one board on each side between them. This will give you a seat that allows you to be more straight on with the udder. I suggested both sides because I prefer milking with my right shoulder against the doe.

If you decide to have a goat dairy, I would be glad to share my experience in making a milking parlor.

Thanks ! an I am actually getting out of having goats for milk an switching to cows. I did have about 12 milking goats an am down to two, a buck an a wether.

What do you mean "final wofati" ? Are those for the second wofati (the big house)?

Yes they are for our final big wofati. But most likely it wont be this year.

Final?!?! for the season, I hope.

These logs are being stacked to dry for our final big wofati. We will most likely just be staying in the smaller wofati this winter.

There is nothing like a pile of logs to get the heart racing! Are you planning on stripping them before they sit too long? I have found that doing it right away (as in the day they are cut or the next day is best) otherwise they can get a little more labour intensive.
